Eric was born to William And Marion Anderson and grew up in Dover Plains, New York, until he enlisted in the Navy during the Vietnam War. He served four tours in Vietnam on the USS Coral Sea. He married Mary Parkins, of Castro Valley in 1969. Eric began his long career in construction in California as a heavy equipment operator and superintendent for both St. Francis Electric & Columbia Electric. He retired in 2007 and moved to Reno. He was an avid hunter, Fisherman, gardner and wood-worker. He loved the view and solitude at his desert "ranch", even though the harsh climate proved extremely challenging for gardening.

He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary, his sisters, Christine Fairchild, Karen Dolan and Susan Anderson. His children, Michael (Nicole) Anderson, Erica (Jim) Bower. Grandchildren, Zachary, Ashley, Olivia and Michael Jr. and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

A Rosary will be held at Walton's Sparks Funeral Home, 1745 Sullivan Lane, Sparks, NV. at 7:00 pm on Friday, September 6, 2013. A Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2900 N. McCarran Blvd. at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 7.
