ZAGALA, Constance 'Connie' Isabelle (nee Lewis) 'Bluebell' Sunrise: February 6, 1924 Sunset: April 21, 2016 . It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear elder Constance 'Connie' Isabelle 'Bluebell' Zagala (nee Lewis). Connie descends from the Baker/Lewis and Elliot/Jack families of Squamish & N'Quatqua First Nations. Connie was born in Squamish where she grew up on Cheakamus IR No. 11 and attended St. Paul's Indian Residential School in North Vancouver, BC. As a young lady she left the reserve life for Washington State where she married first husband Paul Lopez Senior. She moved to Whiteswan in Yakima for a bit and then Seattle where she met and married her second husband Henry Gregorio Zagala. They lived in Tacoma and later moved to California. Connie moved home to Cheakamus IR No.11 in the late 80's. She had a tremendous heart for children and raised 4 generations of kids starting with her siblings, then her own children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by and will be deeply missed by her brother Robert Lewis; sons Paul Lopez Jr., Henry Ferguson Lopez; daughters Diana, Theresa, Debbie 'Dee' and Ellen; grandchildren Frank, Henry V, Pauline, Henry F., Inez, Thomas, Zack, Caleb, Sebastian, Marlene, Edward, Blair, Vanessa and Tiana. A funeral service was held at Totem Hall in Squamish, BC on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. Online condolences can be found at www.glenhavenmemorialchapel.com

ZORA, Dorothy Elizabeth (Harmer)  
ZORA, Dorothy Elizabeth Zora (nee Harmer) August 25, 1924 - January 22, 2016 Passed away in her 92nd year, predeceased by husband, Nicholas Zora, and brothers Len, Ted and Bud. Lovingly remembered by children Denise, Mike (Sharon), Ken (Janice), Jan (Buff). "Grandma" to Amber, Amy, Chaycen, Danya, Keenan, Nick, Nicole, Vanessa and "Nana" to Alaina, Gage, Hudson, Kalup, Katerina, Keelia, Kiana, Lexus, Maddison, Natasha, Zinovia. Born in Winnipeg and raised on the prairies, Dorothy found her paradise in North Vancouver when the Zora family moved to the coast in 1961. She loved the lush scenery and especially loved her community. She volunteered at Lions Gate Hospital, Silver Harbour, North Shore Neighbourhood House; joined North Shore Alley Bowling and the Lawn Bowling Club. Her presence was noted in letters to the editor of the North Shore News and on radio talk shows. Friends were made easily in the different North Vancouver neighbourhoods she joined over the years. Lives were all enriched by the example of caring she fostered wherever she went. Always happy to help others, her sunny nature will be missed by all who knew her. "Be at peace, sweet Mama." Memorial service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the First Memorial Boal Chapel. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends desire, donations may be made to Lions Gate Hospital.
