Geoffrey Richardson(June 17, 1922 - August 29, 2013)

RICHARDSON, Geoffrey June 17, 1922 – August 29, 2013 Geoff passed away, due to complications from a stroke, holding hands with his wife, in Delta Hospice. Missed by loving wife Therese (nee Couespel), daughter Suzanne (Gabriel Mazoret) of North Vancouver, son David (Annette Kehler) of Grande Prairie, grandchildren Jennifer (Gordon Gardiner) and great grandson Nathan (Airdrie), and Allison (Grande Prairie). Geoff was born in Ashton, England. He trained as a cabinet maker and served in WWII in the RAF as an aircraft mechanic. He met Therese, also in the RAF, in Hamburg, and announced immediately to his pals that 'she was his' and she was for over 67 years. Married in 1946, they immigrated to Canada in 1947. They settled in Vancouver and raised their family here. Geoff started work at Paragon Woodworks which later became Bel-Par Industries from which he retired, 38 years later in 1986, from the position of Vice President. A retirement filled with activities followed and included a move to Tsawwassen. They enjoyed their last few years at the Waterford Residence. Geoff and Terri lawn bowled, played bridge, danced and enjoyed many cruises to all parts of the world. Geoff was an artist. Mainly self taught, his paintings are found in private and corporate collections in Canada and Europe. The celebration of Geoff's life will be held at the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver, on Friday, September 20, 2013, at 10:30 am.
