WILSON, Rachel Caroline (Stafford) August 10, 1969 - November 2, 2013 Rachel Caroline Wilson passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on November 2, 2013 bringing an end to her 22-month fight with cancer. A loving and devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, cousin and friend to so many, Rachel will be deeply missed by her husband Corey and their two young sons Jordan and Liam, mother Erica, father John, brother Mike and a close-knit family of uncles, aunts and cousins in the U.K and South Africa. Rachel was born in Vancouver but raised in Lynn Valley in North Vancouver and attended Upper Lynn Elementary and graduated from Argyle Secondary. Rachel graduated from Capilano College and pursued interesting work and travel throughout her life. Rachel's professional career in Recruitment and HR spanned more than 12 years. She was a well-respected professional admired for her judgment, strong work ethic and positivity. Rachel's greatest joy and success though was family and friendship. Her boys meant everything to her and she was excited to bring Corey home to the North Shore to settle and raise their family amongst the mountains, trails and ocean that she so loved and where she felt most at home. Rachel was a bright light with a sense of adventure about life. Her big heart loved deeply and generously. She surrounded herself with loving people who adored her and she extended her warmth and kindness to many people in her life. Her sense of humour, her love for: music, dancing, entertaining, reading, and her sweet and thoughtful nature will be missed but never forgotten. Rachel's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mary Robertson for her personal and attentive care as Rachel's family doctor since her teens, and also to the caring palliative home care nurses plus the palliative care staff and volunteers at Lions Gate Hospital. A Celebration of Life service is planned for mid-January 2014. A trust fund has been set up for Jordan and Liam at TD Canada Trust - more information can be found by contacting Karen at redshaw@shaw.ca.
