July 1921 - April 29, 2012

Predeceased by his brother Stanley. Survived by his daughter Marina (Jack), grandchildren Lindsay, Parker (Mary), great grandchildren Hayden and nephew Duncan (Robin). Bob was born in Ayr, Scotland and joined the army after being evacuated from school in the Channel Islands. Shipped to India and served in the Gurka Rifles as Captain until 1946. Worked with the Sudan Plantations Syndicate from 1947-1955 where he was the manager for overseeing 13,000 acres and all its labour force. Returned to England where he met and married Wilhemine Lindenbeck in 1956 and then they sailed to Canada where he worked in Port Alberni for Crawley & McCracken until 1957. He then moved to North Vancouver and worked for Western Estates Ltd. He moved to West Vancouver in the early 60's and was then employed by the Liquor Distribution Branch as well as being a very active member of the BCGEU until his retirement in the early 80's when he decided he wanted to take up golf, travel the world and do as he pleased. Bob was a man who loved life and everything it had to offer. Active in fitness and many types of sports (where he was nicknamed Crunch), he was a member of the YMCA for many years and then belonged to the Fit Fellows until his passing. Bob was a long standing member of the West Vancouver Legion and served on the executive at various times over the years. Bob will be missed by both family and many friends. Bob has requested no service, but will have a casual Celebration of Life at one of his favourite hangouts ''Trafiq'' on Wednesday May 9, 2012 6-9pm, 1860 Marine Drive, West Vancouver. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, 231 East 15th Street, North Vancouver or a charity of you choice.
