Cecile L. Harrison, 95, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2017, at her residence in Dunnellon.
She is survived by her husband of 72 years, John Tyler Harrison III, Dunnellon; her sons, R. Michael Harrison, California; Randolph T.
Harrison, California; John T. Harrison IV, California; James A. Harrison, Florida; her daughter, Cecile Gilliland, Michigan; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. Cecile is preceded in death by her brothers, Gerard Jaillet and Charles Jaillet and her sister, Theresa O'Mara.
Cecile was born and raised in Gardner, Mass. She was the daughter to the late Henry J. and Hedwidge M. (Desmarais) Jaillet.
Cecile met her husband, Jack, in Gardner along with her cat, Prunella.
About a year after they'd been dating, Jack was shipped overseas to Scotland on the Queen Mary serving with the U.S. Army during World War II.
She continued working at Heywood-Wakefield furniture factory in Gardner after it was converted into a bomb making facility. Cecile's love continued for her future husband as they became pen pals writing numerous letters to each other while he was overseas.
When Jack returned home from the war, they got married Aug. 4, 1945, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Gardner, Mass. In 1952, they moved and made their home in California. In 1976, following Jack's retirement, they moved to Dunnellon. They were parishoners at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon and Cecile volunteered many hours working at The Community Thrift Store. She had a wonderful life that created so many beautiful memories that will always be treasured forever in our hearts. We love you Mom, Grandma and look forward to seeing you again in that beautiful eternal city.
There will be a Funeral Mass celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 13, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon.
