John "Jack" P. Barbour Jr., 70, of Rainbow Springs, Fla., beloved husband of Carol and loving friend to all, died Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Monroe Regional Medical Center in Ocala. He just celebrated his birthday last month on May 18. Jack was born in Paterson, N.J., to the late John P. Barbour Sr. and Mildred (McCoy) Barbour.

Jack grew up in Clifton, N.J., and was a high school graduate of Don Bosco Technical in Paterson, N.J., where he was on the basketball team. He retired from Nabisco Company after 38 years and moved to Rainbow Springs in 2002. Jack was a member of the Rainbow Springs Golf and Country Club and the Citrus County Horseshoe Club. He enjoyed playing golf, horseshoe occasionally and spending time with his wife and their friends.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was an organ donor.
Besides his wife, Carol, he is survived by his brothers, Tim (Phyllis) Barbour, Wayne, N.J., and Christopher Barbour, Allamuchy, N.J.; his sister, Patricia (Ray) Klechkowski, The Villages; six nieces and nephews.
