Marilyn Janet Dennis, 84, of Dunnellon, passed away Jan. 12, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born April 13, 1933, to Virgil and Stella Nelson in Middletown, Ohio.

Marilyn was a telephone operator for 25 years with Ohio Bell Telephone Company. She moved to the area with her husband, Jack, in 1984 from Middletown and was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Dunnellon.

Marilyn was a fantastic cook and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to read, go to the beach and travel with her husband and close friends.

Marilyn was a member of the Ohio Bell Telephone Pioneers club, the VFW Post No. 3803 Auxiliary group and the RRC. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Robert Asa Peck, and brother-in-law, Stanley Fultz.

Marilyn is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Jack Dennis of Dunnellon; children, Michael (Pam) Dennis of Dunnellon and Rook (Joni) Dennis of Boca Raton; sister, Suzanne Fultz of Lebanon, Ohio; grandchildren, Lindsey (Crystal) Reyes of Ocala, Cara (Bryan) Long of Citrus Springs, Sarah Dennis of Boca Raton and Michael Dennis of Boca Raton; great-grandchildren, Hailey, Aiden and Carson; dear friends, Paul and Judy Jordan, Bill and Brenda Lewis and John and Beverley Deakins as well as many extended family.

Family will receive friends from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Dunnellon, with services starting at 4:30.

Immediately following the service, a repast will be served in the church hall. Services are under the direction of Brown Funeral Home & Crematory in Lecanto.

In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be given to the Go Fund Me account of John Boscarino.
