Norman "Norm" Richard Wiest, 79, of Dunnellon, died peacefully with family Aug. 26, 2018.
Norm was born in Yonkers, N.Y., lived for many other years in River Edge and Brick, N.J., and Dunnellon. He served in the U.S Army, worked for AT&T for decades, and was a very active man running races, competing in triathlons, paddling and biking contests.
He will be remembered as a loving father and grandfather, tennis partner, teammate, as well as a sweet and funny man.
He is survived by his children, Glenn Rosecrans of Maryland, Jennifer Unkles of Massachusetts, Jeffrey Wiest of California, along with six grandchildren who adore him.
The family will hold a private memorial service to honor his request to spend time on the Rainbow River. Condolences and memories can be shared at www.crevassesimplecremation.com.
