Betty Pelfrey Obituary

Betty "Blue" Pelfrey of Kernersville, N.C., died Sunday, June 10, 2012, in Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.
She was born on July 24, 1927, in Roane County, to the late William Thomas and Delta Hamby Emerson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Pelfrey; and a daughter, Brenda Gayle Pelfrey.
She is survived by a daughter, Cherry P. Carter; a dear family friend, Bill Hicks; a granddaughter, Jill McDonough and husband Ben; two great grandchildren, Haley and Peyton McDonough; four sisters, Joyce Elrod, Laura Wilson, Pansy McIntosh and Pat Flanary, all of Cleveland; two brothers, Buck and Kenneth Emerson, both of Cleveland; and extended family members, Dale, Lois, Nathan and James Webber.
A celebration of life will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at the home of her daughter, Cherry. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
