Geneva Watson Sneed, 93, of Rockwood, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012 at her residence. Mrs. Sneed was a Lifelong member of Cardiff Baptist Church of Rockwood. She also was a member of the Cardiff Ladies Fellowship Club. She was member of the Order of Eastern Star in Detroit. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend to all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by parents, Will and Cindy Ryans; husbands, Clifford Watson and Reynold Sneed; granddaughter, Brenda Sue Kennedy; niece, Eula Mae Mason; brothers, Tom Ryans, Ellis Ryans, Dallas Ryans and Jamie Ryans; and sisters, Irene Grigsby, Pearl Sneed, Viola Mayton, Juanita Ryans and Alice Ryans.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter, Phyllis Woodall (Charles), Rockwood; granddaughters, Faithe Marie Byrn, Oak Ridge, and JoAnn Spakes, Rockwood; eight great-grandchildren, Jimmy Byrn, Oak Ridge, David Byrn (Rebecca), Charleston, S.C., Colton Byrn, Oak Ridge, Cortney Byrn, Bledsoe, Ky., Cody Byrn, Oak Ridge, Lacey Byrn, Bledsoe, Kevin Spakes, Kingston, and Robbie Spakes, Rockwood; six great-great grandchildren, Kylie, Garrett, Gibson, Landon, Alex, Kara; several special nieces and nephews, along with a host of friends.
Arrangements are as follows:
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 21, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, in Cardiff Baptist Church, Rockwood. The body will lie in repose from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday in the church. The Rev. Matt Cannon and Bro. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery in Rockwood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to Cardiff Baptist Church, 2170 N. Gateway Ave., Rockwood, TN 37854.
