Florence Ruth Feezell "Babe" Patterson, 87, of Kingston, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, after a brief illness with cancer.
She was born on June 3, 1925, in Harriman. She was preceded in death by son, Dennis Patterson; parents, Ota and Effie Feezell; three brothers; and three sisters.
She was a member of Caney Ford Baptist Church and attended regularly until her illness. She also was instrumental in the beginning of the family business of Pattersons Home Appliance Center, where she worked for many years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Don Patterson, Kingston; daughter-in-law, Lois Patterson, Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Elaine Patterson, Kingston; three grandchildren, Bryan Patterson, Cleveland, Kevin Patterson, Memphis, and Mark Patterson, Kingston; and one sister, Irene Swicegood, Knoxville.
Funeral was at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Kingston, with the Rev. Mark McCoig and the Rev. Adam Barnes officiating. Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 2, at Kingston Memorial Gardens. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be given to either Gideons International at Roane County Gideons, P.O. A friend in Knoxville just sent me a copy of Babe's Obituary. I am so sorry to hear of her death. I have always been known as the "other" Babe Feezell.
