Alvin "Tom" Warner, 86, of Rockwood, passed away Friday, March 15, 2013, in Roane Medical Center in Harriman.
He was born March 2, 1927, in Rockwood to Raymond Joseph and Flossie Rebecca Sweatman Warner. He was of the Presbyterian faith, a U.S. Army veteran
of World War II
and a member and former commander of Rockwood VFW
Post 4782. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Flossie Warner; son, Bill Phillips; brothers, Reece Rolland and Jay Warner; and sisters, Betty Lynn and Barbara Tate.
Survivors include wife, Jeane Warner, Rockwood; son, Glen Warner and wife Charlotte, Rockwood; daughters, Janice Knight, Smyrna, and Annette Garrison, Rockwood; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Joyce Leffew, Rockwood.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 18, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. The service followed at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Mortuary, with the Rev. Charles Snodgrass officiating. Burial was at Roane Memorial Gardens at noon Tuesday, March 19, with full military honors.
