Archie Clendon Baker, 71, of Harriman (Midtown), passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.
He was born Dec. 23, 1942, in New River in Scott County to Homer Dayton Baker and Bessie Stanley Baker. He was a former fishing guide in Orange Lake, Fla., and a former foreman with E-One Fire Apparatus in Ocala, Fla. He enjoyed bowling, dancing and fishing, and he loved his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Baker and Stanley Baker; father-in-law, Arnold Henry Lee; sister-in-law, Nancy Joyce Lee; and two infant brothers-in-law.
Survivors include wife, Alice Yarde Baker, Harriman (Midtown); children, Robin Baker Senn, Benton, Tenn., Michael Scott Baker and wife Annette Marie Medina, Winter Garden, Fla., and Tammy Joanna Yarde, Harriman; grandchildren, Chancey Hunter Drivas and wife Valarie Eden, Reno Lane Drivas, Codi Dalton Drivas, Tyler Hodaka Baker, Olivia Presley Baker and Ashton Michael Baker; sisters, Shirley Langley and husband Ray, Wartburg, Wilda Baker, Kingston, Wanda Harbaugh, Kingston, and Teresa Poole, Kingston; mother-in-law, Eloise Lee, Rockwood; eight brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews.
The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Funeral services followed at 6 p.m. from the chapel of Evans Mortuary. Burial will be at a later date. An online register is available at www.evansmortuary.biz
