Brian T. Giles, 53, of Suffolk, Va., formerly of Rockwood, passed away Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013.
He was born in Rockwood, the son of Judy Giles and the late Jack Giles. He was a wonderful son, brother, father and grandfather. He lived life like no other as an avid Harley rider. He was a U.S. Navy veteran
known as the youngest ship superintendent in the Hampton Roads Ship repair business. He was owner of Giles Logistics and was service manager for Rapid Prep.
Survivors include daughters, Heather Fritz and husband Michael, Stroudsburg, Pa., and Whitney Giles, Suffolk; stepchildren, Michael and Melissa; four grandchildren; his mother, Judy Giles, Rockwood; girlfriend, Sue Giles, Suffolk; brother, Michael Giles and wife Rene', Rockwood; sisters, Nesa Burchfield and husband Dale, Rockwood, and Sumer Reid and husband Rod, Baton Rouge, La.; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 30, followed by a memorial service in Rockwood First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, with the Rev. Kara Foster officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, with full military honors by the U.S. Navy Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Judy Giles, 500 S.
