Carolyn Elizabeth Lawson, 69, of Harriman, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
Carolyn was born September 23, 1944, in Harriman. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
Before her retirement, she was employed at Johnson Health Care of Harriman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noah Rose and Dovie Combs Rose; and brothers, Eddie Rose, Ray Rose and John Calvin Rose.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Paul Lawson, Harriman; daughter, Melissa Lawson and companion James Cox, Harriman; sons, Scott Lawson and wife Kris, Harriman, and Paul Lawson Jr. and companion Travis Hoffman, Clinton; grandchildren, her first grandson, who was an outstanding joy, Tyler Murray, R.J. Lawson, Matthew Lawson, Tiffany Lawson, Jackson Lawson, Kaleb Hoffman, Alene Lawson, Naveah Lawson and Dakota Dixon; and brother, Lee Rose and wife Jaquita, Kingston.
She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Jeanette Lively and husband Jim, Harriman, and Sue Ward and husband Tommy, Coalfield; brothers-in-law; Butch Lawson and wife Gwen, Harriman, Vic Lawson and wife Ann, Rocky Top, Rex Lawson and wife Lori, Harriman, Ronnie Lawson, Harriman, and Robert Lawson, Harriman; two special aunts, Gracie Lively and Cecil Rogers, Harriman; special friends, Peggy and Sonny Harvey, Louise and James Trentham and Jack Ausburn, all of Harriman; and several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 11, in Sharp Funeral Home, Oliver Springs. The funeral will follow at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating. Burial and graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, July 12, at Ollis Cemetery.
