Carolyn Sue Ray, 66 and a resident of Life Bridges in Cleveland, formerly of Harriman, went home to "see her Jesus" on the evening of Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, after a long struggle with her illness.
"Because of her admission of faith in our Lord and Savior, we are assured that she lives in eternity and that one day we will see her again," her family said.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lonnie Earl Ray, Harriman; and grandparents, Mary and Charles Sampsell, Coalfield.
She is survived by her loving mother, Lahoma E. Ray, Harriman, a resident of Ben Atchley State Veterans Home in Knoxville; loving sisters, Lalani E. Wright and husband Larry, Gallatin, and Mary Lea Byrd-Sullivan and husband Dr. Robert Sullivan, Lenoir City; five nieces and nephews, Sandi Wright, Spring Hill, Fla., Matthew Wright, Austin, Texas, Rachel Beth Estep (Chris), Corinth, Miss., Leslea Byrd, Arlington, Va., and Eric Byrd, Murfreesboro; three grand-nieces and -nephews, Skyler, Grady and Abigail Cate Estep, Corinth.
She was blessed to have longterm friend and caregiver of five years, Margaret Hill, Cleveland.
Funeral service will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 5, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Harriman, with the Rev. Edsel West officiating. Burial will be at Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Jan. 5. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
