Charles Lavon "Charlie" Moore

Charles 'Charlie' Lavon Moore, 60, passed away Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, in Indianapolis.
Born to the late Alfonzo and Rachel Moore on Oct. 4, 1952, he attended Rockwood Public Schools. After completion of school, he entered the U.S. Navy, serving eight years with honorable discharge. He then went to work for the U.S. Department of Energy's Y-12 Plant in Oak Ridge. He retired from Y-12 after many years service. He was married to Wilma Moore, who preceded him in death. He remained very devoted to his loving wife's memory.
Survivors include loving and devoted sister, Brenda Highsaw-Ballinger (John); two nieces, Leslie Highsaw-Pittard (Todd) and Jamie Highsaw-Eendos (Mohammed); great-nephews, Milakyi and Michael; a host of relatives and friends.
He was a very kind-hearted person. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood, with the Rev. Brady Springs officiating. Graveside service and burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in Evans Mortuary.
