Dan Frederick Stewart, 93, of Harriman, died Monday, May 19, 2014.
Born in Harriman, Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Imogene Crass Stewart; his daughters, Donna Stewart McKee and Dolores Stewart Scott; and grandson, Chris McKee. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Arminta Graham, Peggy Deakins and Edna Ruth Stewart.
Dan retired from Burlington Industries, where he worked as a supervisor and a manager for quality control. Dan's career led him to live in North Carolina, but he retired to Crossville in 1982 and returned to Harriman in 1995. Dan was an avid golfer, who enjoyed many friendships on the golf course and building golf clubs for friends and family. He was also a faithful member of Trenton Street Baptist Church and a World War II
Air Force veteran.
Dan is survived by his son, Dan Stewart Jr. and wife Leslie, Raleigh, N.C. Dan is also survived by four grandchildren, Deborah McCoy, Angela Matthews, Rachel Haga and G. Atlee Sigmon; and four great-grandchildren. He is additionally survived by brothers-in-law, Charles Massey and Benny Crass and his wife Patsy, who were especially kind with their friendship and care for Dan during his later years.
The family will receive friends at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, in Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, with funeral service following at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Ted Taylor officiating.
