Donnita Johnson Marsh, 45, of Harriman, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012.
She was born July 28, 1967, to Barbara Lynn Johnson. Upon the passing of her mother, at age 12 Donnita and her sister, Carrie, moved to Spring City and were adopted by their uncle and aunt.
She graduated from Rhea County High School and spent a few years in Chattanooga where she met her husband, Andre. They moved to Harriman and raised his son, Patrick, together. Donnita accepted the Lord at an early age while going to Oak Grove Baptist Church in Midtown. She was a private person for the most part, but loved to laugh and have fun. She was an avid card player and loved spending time playing games with her family.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Barbara Lynn Johnson.
She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband of 24 years, Andre Marsh, Harriman; stepson, Patrick Marsh, Chattanooga; step-granddaughter, Aniyah Arnold; adoptive parents, the Rev. Charles and Brenda Johnson, Spring City; sisters, Carrie Ann Johnson, Harriman and Jana Moton, Athens; brother, Steven (Rachel) Johnson, Athens; uncles, Walter Johnson, Dayton, and Paul (Debbie) Johnson, Harriman; several cousins and many friends.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, in the chapel of Evans Mortuary. Funeral Service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. James Guthrie officiating. Concluding and interment services will be at the Petersburg Cemetery in Spring City following the funeral service.
