Jesse Eugene "Gene" Bale, 80, of Kingston, went home to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 4, 2013.
He was a veteran of the Korean War
and was a faithful member and trustee of Coal Hill Missionary Baptist Church. He worked as a printer for the Roane County News for more than 30 years opening before starting his own business, Gene's Printing in Harriman, where he worked for 23 years. He was a loving father, brother, papaw and husband.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Della Bale; his mother and stepfather, Mary and Bill Lacross; three brothers, Louis, James and Butch Bale; and two sisters, Freida and Marie.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Randall and Kathy Bale, Monterey; his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and David Manor, Kingston; five grandchildren, Amanda Harris, Stephanie Burnham, Vanessa Manor, Felicia Tatum and Brantley Tatum; five great-grandchildren, Elijah Whitley, Hallie Whitley, Hadley McPeak, Jared Harris and Amelia Tatum; and two sisters, Bessie, Oregon, and Louise, California.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, in Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 9, in Coal Hill Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Bill Treadway, the Rev. Tim Ruppe and the Rev. Doug Ritter officiating. The body will lie in repose at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow at Coal Hill Cemetery.
