Jimmy Dean Cunningham, 1/4/1939-8/12/2012.
He was a hard worker, husband, dad, pa and friend. He went to sleep early Sunday morning, Aug. 12, 2012, at his home in Daysville. He passed away peacefully. He was a successful self-made man who started out as a mechanic for Kindrick Trucking when he was 14. By the age of 16, he was driving a dump truck, hauling coal. In his 20s, he bought his first truck, driving coast to coast for more than 50-plus years. He thrived in the trucking business. He took in and helped many young men become successful in the trucking business. He was passionate and loved and enjoyed every minute of it. Born and raised in Eureka he was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruth Cunningham; and his grandparents, Maw and Charlie Cunningham and Charlie and Mary Guettner; two sisters, Patsy ""Kitty"" Cunningham and Charlotte ""Shan"" Little; and a nephew, Brad Cunningham.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Cunningham; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tawna Cunningham and their two sons, Wesley and Jason Cunningham; a daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Darrel Crisp; a daughter, Lisa Cobb and her daughters, Carly Cobb and friend Roy Schrade, Brittany and Jesse Watlington and Allie and Charlie Patterson, great-granddaughters Railey Jones and Ellie Patterson; a stepdaughter, Nancy and Massie Thomas, three grandsons Jeremy Benson, Jason Benson, Jared Benson and wife Donna, great-granddaughter Lexi Lynn Benson; two stepsons, David Williams, Raymond and wife Amy, daughters Dustin and Brittany; nieces, Donna Carver and Kim Vanover; three nephews, John Simpson, Kenneth Simpson and Rodney Hamby; special friend, ""Bubba"" Steven Jones; pallbearers, Jeff, Wesley, Jason Cunningham, John, Kenneth Simpson, Raymond David Williams and Jason Benson; and honorary pallbearers, Gary Kindrick and Tony Kindred.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Funeral service followed at 8 p.m. in the chapel of Evans Mortuary, with the Rev. Mike Winters officiating. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15.
