Larry Ray Wilson

Larry Ray Wilson, 63, of Harriman, passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge, surrounded by his family.
He was born July 2, 1950, in Jellico and lived most of his adult life in Roane County. He was a faithful member of Emory Gap Baptist Church. He loved playing the guitar, spending time with his family and especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play various sports. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Millard and Nora Lee Hatfield; and brothers, James Wilson and Freddie Thomas.
Survivors include his loving wife of 23 years, Penny L. Wilson, Harriman; daughters, Kim Johnson and husband Ernie, Knoxville, Melissa Nichols and husband Steven, Chatsworth, Ga., Linda Webb and husband Jared, Rocky Face, Ga., and Stacey Wilson and husband Ben, Kingston; sons, Joey Wilson and wife Cristina, Knoxville, and Lawrence Russell and wife Tammy, Kingston; brothers, Joe Frank Wilson and wife Louise, Harriman, and Richard Thomas, Arizona; sisters, Jean Behymer, Ohio, Glenna Linville, Florida, Patricia Stringfield and husband John, Ohio, Rhonda Maples and husband Ronnie, Harriman, Marlene Brock and husband Terry, Ohio, Darlene Dyer and husband Jerry, Oliver Springs; 13 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 12, in Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, with funeral service following at 8 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Willard Gunter officiating. Graveside service will be at noon Saturday, July 13, at Fairview Cemetery in Kingston, with full military honors conducted at gravesite by the Roane County Honor Guard.
