Louise Scarbro McNew, 88, of Cookeville, formerly of Harriman, died May 30, 2014, at home surrounded by family.
She was a member of South Harriman Baptist Church for over 70 years and was a devoted wife, mother and sister. She was an avid quilter. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billie A. McNew, in 1993. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Scarbro, Harriman; three brothers, Wesley, Leonard and William R. "Billy" Scarbrough; and four sisters, Winnie Poole, Mary Starks, Mildred Byrd and Geneva Creekmore.
She is survived by her three daughters and son-in-law, Judy Turner, Oliver Springs, Donna "Janie" and Lem McSpadden, Cookeville, and Jerry Ann Allen, Oak Ridge; four grandchildren and spouses, Joy Turner Vittone (Billy), Cindy Turner Lawson (Donnie), Shannon Turner (Mandy) and Brian McSpadden (Rana); five great-grandchildren; and brother, Edward L. Scarbrough, Johnson City.
