Marvin Jennings "Mo" Moseley Jr., 88, of Harriman, passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at his home.
He was the son of the late Argie Cates Moseley and Marvin J. Moseley, Chattanooga. He was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church and had served on the official board of St. Marks Methodist, Chattanooga; Camden First Methodist; Broadway Methodist, Paducah, Ky.; and Kingston United Methodist churches. He was retired from TVA after 38 years of service as a mechanical engineer with Power Production in Chattanooga, Widows Creek, Shawnee, New Johnsonville and Kingston. He served in the U.S. Navy
during World War II
and the Korean conflict
. He was a graduate of the University of Chattanooga, class of 1950, and member of ThetaChi fraternity. He was a life member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by wife, Florence Groover Moseley; daughters, Elizabeth Treadwell and Sarah Ann Peters; sons, Marvin III, James Milton and Thomas Daniel; seven grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, in Kingston United Methodist Church, followed by a celebration of life at 2:30 p.m., with the Rev. Todd Chancey and the Rev. Sue Lynn Johnson officiating. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to either Kingston United Methodist Church or to the donor's favorite charity.
