Mary Kathleen Christopher, age 100, of Kingston, died peacefully in her home on Saturday Oct. 13, 2012. The daughter of Mike and Maggie Wilson, she was born in Vasper, on July 18, 1912, and married James Paul Christopher in January 1934. He died on May 2, 1981.
She is survived by two daughters, Carolyn (Ted) Morton of Kingston, and Linda (Zirkle) Johnston of Loudon; two siblings, Dorothy Hatmaker of Lake City, and Dewey Wilson of Olive Branch, Miss.; 14 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her three sons, James Paul Christopher, Jr. (survived by wife, Mary Jane), David Andrew Christopher (survived by wife Dawn), and Kenneth Wayne Christopher (wife Debbie, deceased); precious great grandson, James Paul Christopher IV; siblings, Clarence Wilson, John L. Wilson, Ollie Brown and Irene Wilson; beloved sisters-in-law, Pearl Denney and Stella Phillips, preceded her in death.
The family received friends 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, at Kyker Funeral Home in Kingston. Funeral service followed at 11 a.m. in the Kyker chapel with the Rev. Jody McLoud officiating. Interment was held at Robbins Cemetery in Clinton at 3:30 p.m. Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston, was in charge of arrangements. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
