Nancy Lee Cole Hosenfeld, 74, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013.
She was born Jan. 16, 1939, in Rockwood to Samuel Pittman and Jeannette Collins Cole. She was an accomplished artist who mastered many mediums; she studied at University of Tennessee and earned a Bachelor of Fine and Applied Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology. She also graduated from Deland High School in Deland, Fla. She was of the Catholic faith. Her grandfather and Cole family were instrumental in starting and managing the Coca-Cola Bottling Plant in Rockwood for many years. She was preceded in death by parents, Samuel and Jeannette Cole; husband of 46 years, Carl Leo Hosenfeld; brother, Samuel Pittman Cole Jr.; and sister, Jacquelyn Gorske.
She is survived by sons, Carl Christopher Hosenfeld, Andrew Paul Hosenfeld and Cole James Hosenfeld, all of Knoxville; daughters, Nancy Jeannette Phillips, Alton, Ill., and Candace Louise Bingham, Kirkwood, Mo.; 14 grandchildren, Charles, A.J., Amanda, Alex, Cody, Jenny, Matthew, Collins, Logan, Cate, Aleah, Jane, Aubree and Clara; twin sister, Shirley Cartman, Deland; and sister, Ann Husfeld, Deland.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, July 21, in the chapel of Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Family and Friends will go in procession to Oak Grove Cemetery at 3 p.m. for graveside and burial services, with Dennis Ferguson officiating.
