Nola Ann Brummitt, 75, of Knoxville, formerly of Rockwood, passed away Friday, Dec. 14, 2012, in University of Tennessee Medical Center, Knoxville.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church in Knoxville. She was a retired lieutenant detective with the Knox County Sheriff's Office, serving with 29 years of service. She was also a member of the Knox County FOP Chapter. She was preceded in death by son, David Glen Brummitt; parents, Mitchell and Nola Pass; brothers, Buck Pass and Mitchell Pass; and sisters, Billie Evans, Mozelle Casteel, and Ozelle Wilson.
She is survived by daughter, Tammy Brummitt (partner Cheryl Headrick), Knoxville; special nieces, Debbie Evans, Kingston, and Terri Evans, Knoxville; grandson, Josh Spurgeon, Knoxville; sister, Virginia Russell, Noblesville, Ind.; brother-in-law, Charles "Buster" Evans, Rockwood; several other nieces and nephews; many friends; and best friends, J.J. Jones and Linda Norton.
Memorial services and visitation were planned from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18, in Westview United Methodist Church, Knoxville, with the Rev. Bruce Spangler officiating. Funeral was at 8 p.m. Private family concluding and burial services will be at a later date. Evans Mortuary, Rockwood, is in charge of arrangements.
