Oveline Borum Galbraith, 94, of Oliver Springs, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at NHC of Oak Ridge.
She was born July 12, 1918, in Roane County. She was a lifelong resident of this area.
She was a faithful Christian and a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking and caring for them.
She was employed at Roane Hosiery mill for 25 years before her retirement.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Denton Borum and Claude Galbraith; a daughter, Pauline "Polly" Barnett; a grandson, Terry Barnett; her parents, Roscoe and Minnie Coker Reynolds; brothers, Tolly, Bill, Floyd, Earl and Joe Reynolds; and sisters, Lucille Cox, Erma Lee Cromwell, Ada Edwards and Nadine Jewett.
She is survived by her children, Clarence Borum and wife JoAnn, Horsehead, N.Y., Brenda Webb and husband Allen, Oak Ridge, Jerry Borum and wife Betsy, Harriman, and Paul Borum and wife Sonya, Coalfield; grandchildren, Cindy Freidman and husband Rob, Long Island, N.Y., Joseph Lackey and wife Kim, Oliver Springs, Sherry Cook and husband Scott, Carthage, Tammy Crawford and husband Roger, Gordonsville, Missy Brown, Carthage, Jonathan Borum and wife Kimberly, Lake Panasoffkee, Fla., Justin Borum and wife Dominique, Harriman, and Jenna Borum, Harriman; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by a sister, Margaret Huckelby, Coalfield; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
The family received friends from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday, March 21, in Mount Pisgah Baptist Church. The funeral followed at 2 p.m. in the church (old sanctuary), with Pastor Garvan Walls officiating.
