Philip C. Kelly, 65, of Rockwood, passed away Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, in Methodist Medical Center in Oak Ridge.
He was a member of South Harriman Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army
. After serving his country, he attended Tennessee Tech, where he earned a bachelor's degree in wildlife management. For the last 25 years, he worked for the Department of Labor as a veterans employment representative. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otha C. and Margaret Phillips Kelly; and one brother, Bill Kelly.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Carol Boyd Kelly; his daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Mark Spearman, Bladenboro, N.C.; his son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Amanda Kelly, Wartburg; his sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Charles Kerr, Oakdale; a sister-in-law, Sue Kelly, Rockwood; his granddaughter, Savannah Grace Kelly; and two stepgrandsons, Jacob and Jordon Armes.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in Davis Funeral Home, Harriman. Funeral services will be at noon Thursday, Feb. 27, in South Harriman Baptist Church with Pastor Matt Edwards and the Rev. Sam Leslie officiating. The body will lie in repose in the church for one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Roane Memorial Gardens with the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard providing military honors.
