Phillip T. Russell, 65, of Chatsworth, Ga., passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2013, in Hamilton Medical Center in Dalton, Ga.
He was born Jan. 2, 1948, in Harriman. He was a very proud father, loving grandfather and a great friend to many. He was a U.S. Navy veteran
who served his country proudly for eight years as an electrical engineer and on the Underwater Demolition Team during the Vietnam era. He was preceded in death by his father, Morrison Kenneth Russell; and brother, Bradley Russell.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Tammy Russell, Kingston; daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Steven Nichols, Chatsworth, Linda and Jared Webb, Rocky Face, Ga., and Stacey and Ben Wilson, Kingston; mother, Lois Evelyn Collins Russell, Rockwood; brothers, Brian Russell, Lafayette, Ga., and Mitch Russell, Tulsa, Okla.; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends.
The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 20, in Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, with memorial service following at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Joe Nelms officiating.
