Robert Jack Morton, 81, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013, in NHC of Knoxville.
A member of Kingston United Methodist Church and a U.S. Navy
veteran serving in Korea, he worked at Kingston Elementary School as principal until his retirement. He loved camping, traveling, gardening, reading and golfing. He was preceded in death by his wife, Colleen Morton.
Survivors include daughters, Elizabeth New and husband David, and Penny York and husband David, all of Knoxville; grandchildren, Logan Allen and husband Travis, Jessica New and fiancÃ© Alex Bustle, Noah and Joshua New, Madison, Chandler and Carson Lekes, Anthony and Veronica York; and sisters, Sarah Griffith and Corinne Wilson.
Funeral was at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 28, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Kingston, with the Rev. Todd Chancey and the Rev. Sue Lynn Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Kingston Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Roane County Military Memorial Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Kingston United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
