Roy Mac Bryant, 71, of Rockwood, passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 27, 2014.
Mr. Bryant was born on Nov. 2, 1942, in Rockwood to Theodore Roosevelt and Bonnie Lou Walker Bryant. Mac was a loving husband, father and grandfather and was a member of First Baptist Church, Rockwood. Mr. Bryant was a lifelong Vol fan "Vol for Life". He worked as a heavy equipment operator with Bizzack Brothers for 47 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Robert "Bob" Bryant, Don Bryant, Billy Bryant and Charles Bryant; sisters, Frankie Williams, Emma Hopson, Elizabeth Lindamood and Brenda Sue Cox.
Survivors include wife of 51 years, Carol Ann Bryant, Rockwood; son, Tony Bryant and fiancÃ©e Julia Clevenger, Harriman; daughter, Teresa A. Braden and husband Terry, Walland; granddaughter, Jessica Bryant; sister, Katherine Lynn Skidmore; sister-in-law, Janet Bryant; brothers-in-law, Roger Moree and Bill Cox; a host of nephews, nieces and cousins and a host of friends in the Rockwood community.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. The funeral service will follow at 4 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Ben McNees and Ben Gould officiating. Family and friends will meet at Odd Fellows Cemetery at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 30, for the graveside services.
