Shirley A. Ryans, 72, of Rockwood, went to meet the Lord on Friday, April 19, 2013.
She was born on Aug. 2, 1940, in Coalfield, the daughter of the late Willard L. and Claire E. Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her parents; ex-husband, Arnold Ryans; and brothers, Mark W. Taylor, Bobby L. Taylor, and Glenn Taylor. She was a devout believer of Jesus Christ, never hesitating to tell anyone she met about His love and what He meant to her, and holding regular church meetings in her home for many years. She was a loving mother, and any friends of her sons would invariably end up calling her "Mom," just like they were one of her own kids. Always full of love and kindness, she was a person whom people could always count on for any assistance needed.
She is survived by her six sons, Timothy R. Ryans, Michael B. Ryans and wife Nancy, Thomas L. Ryans and wife Tina, Patrick S. Ryans, Roddy C. Ryans and wife Claudia, and Jason T. Ryans; four brothers, Carlos W. Coppinger, David M. Taylor, John D. Taylor and Steven A. Taylor; one sister, Sandra K. Ross; grandchildren, Jonah Stout, Tabitha Ryans, Heather Hall, Brittany Ryans, Daniel Ryans, Ben Williams, Cooper Kolb-Ryans, Lexy Ryans, Chrissy Ratliff and Autumn Ryans; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
