Timothy J. Futrell, 50, of Kingston, went home to be with the Lord Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, in Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was born on March 3, 1962, in Harriman. He was a lifelong resident of Roane County.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Morgan Carl Mayton and Ruby Gouge Mayton, and Lewis Futrell and Lassie King Futrell, all of Coalfield; uncle, Tommy Futrell, Johnson City; uncle, Kenneth Futrell, Coalfield; aunt, Deborah Mayton, Coalfield; and former wife, Robyn, Harriman.
He is survived by spouse Jodie Moore Futrell; daughters, Dr. Jami Futrell Goodwin and husband Dave, Johnson City, and Karli J. Futrell, Kingston; four grandchildren, Jacob, Sarah, Jacey and Sawyer Goodwin, all of Johnson City; his mother, Erma Mayton McCarroll and husband Pete, Oliver Springs; his father, Billy J. Futrell, Coalfield; his brother, Michael E. Futrell and wife Julie, Kingston; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family members; special friend, Charlie Price, Kingston; and many other friends.
He was employed by Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, playing chess, shooting guns, playing golf and cooking.
The family will receive friends in Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman, from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, with a celebration of life immediately following. The Rev. James Bunch will be officiating.
