Welton W. McCain, 93, of Kingston, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, in Parkwest Medical Center in Knoxville.
He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church for many years. He was a World War II
veteran, serving the country in the U.S. Navy
serving on the USS Lexington in the Pacific. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Wesley and Della McCain; and several siblings.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Stephenson and husband Paul, Kingston; son, Michael McCain and wife Ann, Kingston; granddaughters, Sarah Drumheller and husband David, New York, and Alissa McCain, Texas; stepgrandchildren, David Stephenson, Jamestown, Joshua Pearman, Knoxville, and Paul Pearman and wife Peyton, Chattanooga; sister, Cletha Pipkin, Rockford, Ill.; brother, C.J. McCain and wife Laverne, Bloomfield, Mo.; a host of other family members and friends.
Family and friends will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 22, for a graveside service with military honors at Kingston Memorial Gardens. Jackson Funeral Services, Oliver Springs, is in charge of arrangements. Thoughts and memories may be shared with the family at jacksonfuneralservices.com
