William R. "Bill" Morton, 76, of Kingston, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014, in The Bridge at Rockwood, where he had been since mid-January.
Bill worked at ORNL for 36 years, retiring in 1994, when he continued his M&W Plumbing business full time. He was active at First Baptist Church until his illness no longer allowed. He participated in many mission trips and other volunteer services that provided him much joy. He was preceded in death by parents, Louise and Cara Morton.
Survivors include wife of 58 years, Mary Morton; daughters Connie Morton, Athens, Teresa Craig, Knoxville, and Lisa Renee Butler, Nashville; brother, Ronald Morton, Clarksville; sister, Kay Solomon, Memphis; grandchildren, Erin Edgemon, Kenny Edgemon, Lance Craig and Trent Craig; great-grandchildren, Daniel Craig, Micaiah Craig and Eli Edgemon.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston. The funeral will follow immediately after, with the Rev. Jody McLoud officiating.
