A.D. Easter, 89, of Knoxville, born in Paint Rock on Feb. 24, 1924, passed away Monday, July 15, 2013.
He was a 21-year veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving in both World War II and the Korean War. Following his military career, he ran a real estate business in Roane County, where he resided for many years. He was a longtime member of Paint Rock Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Tim Easter; his parents, Sam and Sally Easter; and his siblings, Grace Weaver, Liz Borin, Jim Easter and Helen Edgemon.
He will be greatly missed by his devoted wife of 65 years, Inez Hughes Easter. He is survived by his sister, Audrey Jennings; his son, Jim Easter (daughter-in-law Doris Easter); daughter, Diane Easter; grandchildren, Brandi Lauer, J.P. Easter, Taylor Klein, Laura Easter and David Easter; and great-grandchildren, Rachel, Rebecca and Elizabeth.
Graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, at Paint Rock Cemetery, with Pastor Bob St. John officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Paint Rock Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston, is in charge of arrangements. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
