Amo "Nanny" Boyd, 70, of Oliver Springs, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2014, at her residence.
Amo was born Nov. 8, 1943, in Clinton to the late Curly and Minnie Turner. She was a member of Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church. Amo loved playing softball in her earlier years and spending time with her grandchildren and attending their ballgames and sporting events. In addition to her parents, Amo was also preceded in death by brothers, Clarence Epps and Lincoln Turner; sister, Barbara Ann Washington; and brother-in-law, Tressie Rivers.
She is survived by husband, Charles Boyd Sr., Oliver Springs; daughters, Tracy Knaff and husband Kelvin, Oliver Springs, and Valerie Boyd and fiancé Leander Blackmon, Harriman; sons, Frederick Carter, Knoxville, Charles Boyd Jr. and wife Stacie, North Carolina, and Marc Boyd, Harriman; aunt, Inez Johnson, Knoxville; grandchildren, Andre Boyd, Jovan Ivy, Dimitrique Inman, Akira Boyd, Shantel Mitchell, Shakira Mitchell, Tyrique Boyd, Samia Boyd, Charles Earl Boyd III, Marcel Boyd, Jazmine Mitchell, Robert Coalfield, Diamond Ford, Darian Boyd, TahDarius Boyd and Maximus Boyd; great-grandchildren, Bennet Boyd, Kendal Boyd, Atierrah Inman, Anyri Boyd and Amira Clemons; sisters, Barbara J. Rivers, Chattanooga, Christine Washington, Oak Ridge, Regina Turner, Harriman, and Minnie Booker, Harriman; brother, Christopher Turner and wife Debbie, Clinton; companion, Honey, her dog; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, in Holley Gamble Funeral Home, Clinton, with funeral services following in the chapel. holleygamblefh.com
