Anna Wyatt Blazer Gamble
Anna Wyatt Blazer Gamble, 89, passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, while living in Vero Beach, Fla.
Born in Parrottsville, Tenn., she had lived in Harriman most of her adult life. Predeceasing her were her husband, Fowler H. Gamble; and her loving papa and mama, Newton and Sadie Blazer. She was also predeceased by her sisters, Nellie Blazer, Grace Ownby, Hazel Hughes and Maude Dawson.
She is survived by her children, Sue-Ellen Mosler, Sarah Mozley (Simon), Isaac Gamble (Wendy) and Mary Wyatt Rhodes (David). Also, surviving are her grandchildren, Amanda Murdock Girard (Kevin), Sada and Jacob Mosler; and great-grandchildren, Steven and Allen Girard. Other survivors include her sister, Pearl Blaylock; her cousin, Dee Vee Gardner; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of South Harriman High School. She worked with her husband in their electrical installation and repair business for many years. She was instrumental in the founding of Midtown Valley United Methodist Church. She remained active in church activities until she moved to Florida to be closer to her children. She was particularly well known for her coconut pies, which were always a hit at the church suppers.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4, in Midtown Valley United Methodist Church. Private graveside services will be on Monday, Nov. 5, at Roane Memorial Gardens.Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home & Crematory, Vero Beach, is in charge of arrangements.
