Beatrice Christian Smith, 91, of the New Midway community in Kingston, passed away Tuesday morning, April 2, 2013, in Methodist Medical Center, Oak Ridge.

She was the oldest member of New Midway Baptist Church, where she was faithful to serve until her death. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Relford Smith; mother, Annie Elizabeth Christian Jenkins; and father, Emory Christian.
She is survived by her daughters, Teresa Garza and husband Manuel, Kingston, Pat Safriet, Kingston, and Jerry Harvey, Clinton; son, Cleo Smith and wife Lien, Kingston; grandchildren, Michael Paul Anderson, Elizabeth Grogan, Connie Clabough, Jo Campbell, Sherry Nelson, Debbie Phillips and Sherry Adamzyck; 14 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 4, in New Midway Baptist Church. Funeral services followed at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Rod Garrett and the Rev. Howard Huffine officiating. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 5, and proceed to Lawnville Cemetery for graveside services at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Eddie Click officiating.
