Charles "Pat" Sheets, 69, of Sevierville, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Days Saints. He was the former "Voice of the Harriman Blue Devils" and was a retired master sergeant having served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an active volunteer in the community and enjoyed playing various games and activities with friends and family. Pat was an avid fisherman and loved playing horseshoes and corn hole. He loved all sports, especially the Tennessee Vols. Pat has always found great joy in serving others. To know him was to love him. He loved and spoiled his sweetheart of 50 years, Linda. He was an amazing Christ-like example to all he came in contact with. He was a great husband, father, Poppi, friend and coworker who will be greatly missed. Pat was preceded in death by his mother, Suemantha Hill Sheets; father, Charles Clyde Sheets; brother, Clifford Sheets (Louise); sister Louise Smith (E.L.); and brother Lee Smith.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Sheets; sons and daughter-in-law, Tyler Sheets, and Trevor Sheets (Cara); daughters and sons-in-law, Sarah Wilson (Trevor), Suzanne Sheets Frost, Lindsey Glasper (Anthony), Katie Clapp (Scott), and Allison Kirby (Zach Cody); grandchildren, Ashley Pridemore, Anderson Kate and Crosby Sheets, Davis, Greer, AnnHadly and MaryBlair Wilson, Gavin, Piper and Paisley Frost, Ty, Maliyah, Leila and Kamylah Glasper, Olsen, Benson and Elliott Clapp, Kayleigh and MaKenna Kirby; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie Smith (Debbie) and Terry Smith (Candice); sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherry Sheets, Nancy (and the late Sid) Marler, Brenda Tilley (Tom), and Ketta Smith.
The family will received friends 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 25, at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville. A funeral service will be held 6 p.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Family and friends will leave Atchley Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. Tuesday in procession to East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, for an 11:30 a.m. graveside service and interment.
