Charlotte Ann Steelman Adcox, 54, of Kingston, passed away Saturday, Dec. 22, 2012, in Parkwest Medical Center with her family at her side.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Kingston and also attended Victory Baptist Church in Kingston. She was a devoted Christian school teacher for more than 32 years. During those years she taught at Mount Pisgah Christian Academy in Oliver Springs and Calvary Baptist School in Kingston. She was selected as the 1994-95 teacher of the year in the states of Tennessee and Kentucky. She graduated from Tennessee Temple University in Chattanooga. She is preceded in death by father, Floyd Steelman; and grandparents, James and Gretchen Turner and Nancy Steelman.
She is survived by her husband of 32 years, Billy Adcox; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryon and Loni Adcox, Riverside, Calif., and Travis and Jenny Adcox, Knoxville; mother, Rubye Steelman, Harriman; brothers and sisters-in-law, Larry and Mary Steelman, Petros, and Boyd and Carol Steelman, Harriman; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Dennis Fairchild, Harriman; brothers-in-law and wives, Keith and Vickie Adcox, Mike and Sherry Adcox and David and Martha Adcox; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, in Kyker Funeral Home, Kingston, with a funeral service following at 7 p.m., with the Revs. Garvan Walls, Ray Bearden and James Jones officiating. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Calvary Cemetery in Kingston, with the Revs. Jeff Plemons and Eddie Chasteen officiating. Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel, Knoxville, is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Mount Pisgah Christian Academy, P.O.
