Dorothy "Dottie" Weaver Liles, 89, of Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2013.
She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was a hospital volunteer and was active in nursing home and prison ministry. She was preceded in death by her parents, P.T. and Elizabeth Weaver; brother, James R. Weaver; and sisters, Pauline Cardin, Mildred Greer Dyer, Doris Long, Mamie Maples and Clara McMahan.
She is survived by her husband of 70 years, Walter Herbert Liles; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Lucinda Liles, Knoxville; grandchildren, Andrea and Chip McDowell, Tanner and Catie Cardwell; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Jack and Hank McDowell and Emerson Rae Cardwell; sisters, Deloris Ward and Jean Mowery and husband, Wiley B.; brother, Charles Weaver and wife, Marywill; many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, in Click-Hawkins Chapel, 102 B St., Lenoir City. Funeral services will follow at 7:30 p.m., with the Rev. Ronnie Batchelor and the Rev. Jack Norris officiating. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Saturday at Woodlawn Cemetery in Lenoir City for graveside services. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Tennessee Children's Hospital NICU.
