Ella Mae Smith, 63, of Kingston, passed away Monday, Dec. 9, 2013, at her residence.
She was born Jan. 25, 1950, in Rockwood and had been a lifelong resident of Roane County. She was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She had worked as a teacher at Midtown Elementary School and with the Roane County Election Commission. She went to beauty school under the supervision of Mrs. Browder, receiving certification as a licensed cosmetologist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Smith; father, Oscar Fritts and sister, Kay Fritts Smith.
Survivors include daughter, Wendy Savage and husband John, Kingston; mother, Margaret East Fritts, Kingston; brother, Joe Fritts and wife Trula, Rockwood; sister, Glenda Gadd, Kingston; a host of extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, in Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, with funeral service following the visitation at 7 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Nick Hill and the Rev. Donnie Hill officiating. Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13, at Lawnville Cemetery.
