Erma Hughes, 93, of Ten Mile, went home to be with Jesus on Wednesday, April 10, 2013, in Renaissance Terrace in Harriman.

She was born Feb. 3, 1920, in Roane County and has been a lifelong resident of this area. She was the longest charter member of Shiloh Baptist Church. In earlier years, she had worked at Palm Beach Mill Outlet, but her happiest times were when she was farming and cooking for her family. She also enjoyed quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, C.B. Hughes; parents, Oscar and Mary Magdalene Wyatt Burton; several sisters and brothers.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Holden "Bud" Hughes and wife Pat, Ten Mile; grandchildren, Burt and Lee Ann Hughes, Ten Mile, Greg and Yvonne Hughes, Ten Mile, and Brian and Marianna Hughes, Kingston; great-grandchildren, Cody and Hope Hughes, Ten Mile, Eric Stansberry and Miranda Humphreys, Kingston, and Suzanne Hughes, Ten Mile; great-great-grandchild, Kolden Hughes, Ten Mile; brother and sister-in-law, Boyd and Jean Edgemon, Ten Mile; sister, Mary Lou Williford, Kingston; brother-in-law, Bill Hughes, Ten Mile; special friend, Wilma Bell, Ten Mile; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, April 13, at Edgemon Cemetery, Ten Mile, with the Rev. Adrian Jones officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church, c/o The Roofing Fund, 4242 Decatur Hwy., Kingston, TN 37763. Fraker Funeral Home, Kingston, is in charge of arrangements.
