Ethel Magness Rooks, 87, of Harriman, passed away Friday, Nov. 15, 2013, in Jamestowne Assisted Living in Kingston.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Theo Rooks; two sisters; and eight brothers.
She is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Joe Williams, Harriman; sisters, Viola Clack, Winder, Ga., and Delores Odum, Clarkesville, Ga.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and their families, Randall Rooks, Auburn, Ga., Rudolph Rooks, Lawrenceville, Ga., Julia Duncan, Auburn, and Joyce Allen, Oxford, Ga.; many nieces and nephews.
She is also survived by special extended family, residents and staff at Jamestowne Assisted Living.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, in Rockwood First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with the Rev. Kara Foster and the Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
