He was born June 24, 1938, in Kingston and was a longtime resident of Roane County. He retired from TVA in 1994 as a heavy equipment mechanic. He was also a U.S. Army corporal veteran who served his country proudly during the Vietnam era. He was an avid NASCAR fan and attended NASCAR races as long as he was able. During his lifetime, he was privileged to do many things some only dream about, such as being a boxer, skater and a race-car driver. One of his favorite enjoyments was meeting up with his friends at Handee Burger and sitting at the "liars table," where he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Freemont and Helen Britt Newhouse; and brothers, William Robert "Rip" and Roy Eugene "Hosea" Newhouse.
