James Howard Keebler, 87, of Harriman, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at home.

A member of South Harriman Baptist Church, he loved wood working. He was the former press foreman at the Roane County News. A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Dorothy Keebler; sister, Mattie Lucille Keebler; sister, Mary Margaret Keebler; brother, William L. Keebler Jr.; sister and brother-in-law Elizabeth and Robert Mayton; brother-in-law, Sam Overstreet; and sister-in-law, Opal Harmon.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Wilma Oran Keebler, Harriman; daughters, Belinda Keebler Powers and husband Bill, Harriman, and Janet Keebler Larson and husband Bobby, Knoxville; grandchildren, Brooke Powers Whitlock and husband Terry, and Brandon Powers; great grandson, Grant Whitlock; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Joyce and Cecil Johnson, Wanda Overstreet and Dub Harmon; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, in Kyker Funeral Home chapel, Harriman, with the Rev. Mason Goodman officiating. Burial will be at Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. Friday in Kyker Funeral Home, Harriman. www.kykerfuneralhomes.com
