Jeffery Lee Adams, 56, of the Glen Alice community of Rockwood, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at his residence.

He was born March 30, 1957, in Rockwood. He attended North Rockwood Baptist Church in Rockwood and was recently re-employed with Alba Health in Rockwood, having previously worked there for several years. He loved his family and flower gardening and, according to his family, he was the kindest-hearted person they knew.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Vernie and Noama Miller, and Addison and Pauline Adams; brother-in-law, Wayne Reid; and nephew, Dwayne Reid.
Survivors include parents, Bob and Sarah Adams, Rockwood; brother and sister-in-law, Steve and Carolyn Adams, Rockwood; sister, Judy Reid, Corbin, Ky.; nieces, Stephanie Birchfield and husband Jason, Rockwood, Stacey Smith and husband Jon, Rockwood, Allison Giles, Rockwood, and Jill Reid, Corbin; special great-niece and great-nephews, Hadley Giles, Hunter Reid and Clayton Smith; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of special friends left to mourn his loss.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Evans Mortuary, Rockwood. Funeral services will follow at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5, from the chapel of Evans Mortuary, with the Rev. Ben Whittenbarger officiating. Graveside services and burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at Glen Alice Cemetery in Rockwood. An online register is available at www.evansmortuary.biz.
